Transmission Slipping?
When do I need a Transmission Service?
A Transmission Service is routine maintenance that is recommended every 30,000 miles or every 2 years.  Occasionally, you may need to get serviced sooner.
Watch out for these signs to avoid bigger transmission problems.
Strange Noises or Transmission Grinding could indicate a contamination caused by dirt, grease or sludge or low levels of fluid.
Problems Shifting Gears is caused by too much dirt or sludge in your transmission fluid.  Clean fluid will keep your vehicle shifting smoothly.
Slipping Gears is caused by a lack of hydraulic power.  The transmission must develop enough pressure to stay in the appropriate gear.
Surging of the Vehicle is caused by inconsistent flow of clean transmission fluid.  Clean fluid is required for smooth operation of gears and moving parts in the transmission bell housing.
Delay in Vehicle Movement is when your vehicle stalls for one or two seconds when put in gear.  If nothing else is wrong with your transmission,  a transmission flush may be the answer.

Never Fear, your Transmission Specialist is Here!
Here are the options Veldman's Automotive Service Center can offer you depending on your specific problem.
You may ask why can't I get a New Transmission installed.
New  Transmissions are not available from the dealer or any other source.  They are only used in the production of new vehicles.  If you buy a transmission from a dealer you are receiving a remanufactured one.
Rebuilt  or Remanufactured Transmissions are disassembled and inspected, worn and damaged parts are replaced then reassembled  to factory specifications using new gaskets, seals, clutches and bands.  We leave the rebuilding to Jasper Engines & Transmissions a trusted partner with a Nationwide Warranty.
Repaired Transmissions have a specific part that is replaced or fixed.  For example if a leak is found and the internal components still have a lot of life in them then the external seals could be replaced to fix the leaking problem.  Keep in mind the new parts would only be  warranted.  This is cost effective but holds an element of risk.
Used Transmissions are usually hundreds of dollars cheaper than a Remanufactured Transmission, but it comes with higher risks and a lesser warranty.
Our ASE Certified Service Specialists are here to help you decide which is repair that works best for you and your vehicle.
